The $865 million Powerball jackpot is up for grabs a day after a ticket won $1.13 billion Mega Millions.

Wednesday night, a day after a New Jersey ticket won a $1 billion Mega Millions jackpot, Powerball will offer its fifth-largest payout, $865 million.

The drawing will follow Tuesday's historic Mega Millions prize.

Without specifying where in New Jersey the ticket was sold, lottery officials confirmed Tuesday's estimated $1.13 billion Mega Millions jackpot was won.

Tuesday's Mega Millions winning numbers were 7, 11, 22, 29, 38, and Mega Ball 4.

If validated, the $1.13 billion Mega Millions prize would rank fifth in game history.

The lottery stated the winner might choose between annual jackpot payments or a $537.5 million lump payout.

The Powerball jackpot has topped $800 million twice this year. A Michigan ticket won $842.4 million in January's Powerball drawing.

Powerball reports 36 consecutive drawings without a jackpot winner.

The lottery reported that a California ticket bought in November 2022 won the $2.04 billion Powerball jackpot, the greatest US lottery win.

The expected $865 million Powerball prize on Wednesday would rank fifth all-time.
