Prince William wasn't in cancer video with Kate Middleton.

There's a reason Prince William wasn't in his wife Princess Kate Middleton's cancer announcement video.

Last week, Princess Kate made the announcement via a video message that she was receiving treatment for an unidentified strain of the illness.

After seeing the video, a lot of people questioned William's decision not to accompany her on social media.

"This was her as a strong woman sharing an innately strong message to the nation," a source told London's The Times in response to the rumors.

She didn't require a companion to sit by her. In the background, [William] has been helping her and the family.

The day following the video's broadcast, on Saturday, March 23, the royal couple presented a united front by releasing a joint statement regarding Kate's fight with cancer.

According to a Kensington Palace statement provided to Us Weekly.

"The Prince and Princess are both enormously touched by the kind messages from people here in the UK, across the Commonwealth, and around the world in response to Her Royal Highness' message."
