Ignorant tourists do not hibernate in Yellowstone National Park throughout the winter, unlike certain animals.

Although their numbers are undoubtedly declining, this type of individuals continues to be seen year-round coming unduly close to wild creatures.

A bison near the entrance sign, things may have quickly escalated into a serious emergency. 

Visitors are advised by Yellowstone to always stay at least 25 yards away from bison. It appears that these people missed the memo.

In the unlikely event that this bison were to turn the tables, they could cover ground very quickly—up to 35 mph.

At their peak—and the icy roads might make a swift escape to a safe vehicle even more difficult.
