NBA World Responds to the Most Recent Suspend of Ja Morant

The NBA's latest sanctions, if any, against Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant for his second instance of showing

pistol on social media will be disclosed shortly after the finals, according to Commissioner Adam Silver.

Silver did not specify the nature of the penalties, nor did he explain whether Morant would be available to begin the season next year.

Morant was suspended by the NBA for eight games in March for an incident in which he streamed himself

on Instagram showing a gun in a suburban Denver bar, and the Grizzlies punished him

last month when another video showed Morant displaying what seemed to be a gun.

The league has discovered more material during its current investigation, according to Silver,

but the decision was made not to let the next round of Morant news dominate the NBA Finals.

"We probably could have brought it to a head now, but we made the decision — and I believe the players' association agrees with us —

that it would be unfair to these players and these teams, in the middle of this series, to announce the results of that investigation," Silver said in a statement.
