‘Kung Fu Panda 4’ Nears $300M Global; ‘Dune 2’ Closing In On $600M; ‘Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire’ Traps $16M+ In Phase 1 Overseas Bow – International Box Office

Kung Fu Panda 4, a Universal/DreamWorks Animation production, had a rock 'em sock 'em weekend at the international box office

bringing in an additional $55.3M from 69 territories for a total cume of $135M internationally and $268.2M worldwide (a few major markets,

including France, Australia, the UK, and Korea, are still pending release). 

China dominated the fourquel's budget with $25.7 million, which included previews from the previous session.

. The franchise has a solid track record in that volatile market, and the ongoing success of Warner Bros./Legendary's Dune: 

 Part Two ($43.9M in total revenue in China) is encouraging for a market that is becoming more insular. Should we expect spring? Let's hold off on that one.
