10 Soups Our Food Staff Cooks on Repeat

This is the season for soup, In the event that you are more than ready to replace a few of those quick summer salads with some brothy goodness, but you are unsure of how to begin, the crew at New York Times Food is more than pleased to facilitate your transition.

Among all of my favorite soups, the ribollita that Mark Bittman makes is one of my favorites.

1. Ribollita

The hearty and healthful chickpea and vegetable soup that Melissa Clark makes is one of my favorites since all of the ingredients can be thrown into a pot without having to sauté them first, and then the soup is allowed to simmer until it is ready.

 2. Chickpea Vegetable Soup With Parmesan, Rosemary and Lemon

By reminding everyone of the rich change that onions go through with some patience and a little bit of stirring, Sara Bonisteel's French onion soup is a great example of how time can be a deceptive illusion.

 3. French Onion Soup

If you have a couple of chicken breasts, Sue Li's flavorful and uncomplicated soup with a hint of sesame might be the finest thing you did with them.

 4. Sesame-Ginger Chicken Noodle Soup

It was this soup that began my love affair with lentils. I have never come across anyone who does not enjoy it because it is not only quick to prepare but also light and lemony.

 5. Red Lentil Soup With Lemon

An excellent soup for the chilly season, Florence Fabricant adapted this recipe from Freemans Restaurant in New York City.

 6. Hearty Split Pea Soup With Bacon

In New York City, the instant I feel the tickle of a crisp fall breeze, I am overcome with a yearning for butternut squash soup.

 7. Butternut Squash and Green Curry Soup

There is a friend of mine from college who happens to be a huge admirer of Melissa Clark for whatever reason.

 8. Lemony White Bean Soup With Turkey and Greens

The stew that I have always relied on the most is doenjang jjiga,,My favorite way to prepare it is to sprinkle it with cubed sirloin and broken chunks of soft tofu.

 9. Doenjang Jjigae

By way of Mayukh Sen, Yasmin Khan has created a soup that I just adore. For me, it is meaty, textured, tasty, and easy to execute.

 10. Roasted Cauliflower Soup
